WHAT ARE POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS?
Some small bruising and swelling is normal for most people. This will usually settle in 2-4 days. Make up will cover most small marks.
Rare, delayed onset of swelling and/or redness.
Very rare: allergic reaction to the product, consisting of delayed swelling or lumpiness some weeks or months after treatment. With the use of the enzyme hyaluronidase this can be reversed.
Very rare is vascular occlusion leading to skin ulceration or blindness. With the use of the enzyme hyaluronidase these serious complications can be undone in most cases.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
Results can last up to 12 months, sometimes longer, depending on the patient’s metabolism and the area treated.
Unique with this type of dermal filler is that they can be completely reversed, should you wish to remove it or should any problems arise. This is done by injecting the specific enzyme that your own skin produces to safely break up the gel.
WHAT DO THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?
The treatment is in-office, many patients do not require any anesthetic or just a topical cream. No skin testing is required. Many will be able to return to work the next day. All our cosmetic assessment and injections are done by experienced doctors.
